Posters
Right out of school (GO TAR HEELS) I became the first ever art director for Frank Heath’s legendary Cat’s Cradle music venue in North Carolina.
I designed countless ads and flyers, created the club’s first website, and screenprinted large posters by hand in the bar while the biggest names in music loaded in during the day.
My work got noticed and featured in a tall stack of art books about poster design, in international exhibitions focused on the art of Sonic Youth and the influence of the Velvet Underground, and acquired for permanent collections in cultural institutions like Poster House in NYC and the Southern Folklife Collection at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Ad agencies, footwear giants, and major record labels started calling me directly for projects that needed an edge and an air of credibility, and before I knew it, a career was born.
