Radio Silence

Radio Silence, my passion project with editorial visionary Dan Stone, was an award-winning magazine of literature and rock & roll that published beautifully designed print issues, launched a compelling online edition with smartphone apps, and produced live events.

The best writers and musicians in the world contributed to each of our three print issues and 23 digital issues, including Bruce Springsteen, Ted Gioia, Ray Bradbury, Carrie Brownstein, Dashiell Hammett, Lucinda Williams, Pico Iyer, Sam Lipsyte, Rick Moody, and many others.

Artists George Pratt, Wendy MacNaughton, Leslie Herman, Jay Ryan, Dan Grzeca, Barron Storey, and Lisa Brown were among the 30+ top illustrators I hired and art directed each month.

Radio Silence also existed live on stage. From intimate loft parties to large concerts, our events featured writers and musicians in performance and collaboration.

Performers and speakers included Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, Stephin Merritt, Elvis Costello, Tanya Donelly, Sam Lipsyte, James Murphy, Thao Nguyen, Greil Marcus, Daniel Handler, Jon Mooallem, Rick Moody, and many others.

Radio Silence received a Pushcart Prize for short fiction, was named by Library Journal as one of the 10 Best New Magazines in the Country, and won recognition from the Society of Illustrators for art direction and illustration.
